Well, it's about time that I enter my own challenge. [Image: giggle.gif]

I went with a city house inspired by a brownstone (sort of) but I couldn't include the front stoop. I also just discovered OMSPs so I went a little overboard and I just had to stop already. Smile

So anyway, Julie and her teenage daughter Lara live in this cozy place in the city (not in the best neighborhood as the mess in the alley shows. - I know it's not in the city, work with me here) that has everything they need but, to tell the truth, Julie is looking forward to having the basement for her hobby room after Lara goes off to art school in the fall.

The outside

Lara loves her room and is going to miss it...

when she goes off to school.
Julie loves her little house especially the dining room...
the vintage kitchen...
and the cozy living area.
She has some luxuries...
a little green space...
and a quite spot above it all.
Welcome.

I love the brick-townhouse feeling you created here. Would love to see 10 different versions of this house in a row to give it a real 'downtown' -feeling Wink Love the red doors/windows and small garden.

mrmiss: I love Lara's the art wall in Lara's room. And what lovely chairs you have on the balcony. Wouldn't mind having a sit there. As Pro said: making a street out of different versions of this house, would look good & could be very interessting.

I love how cosy your house is! All the flower bushes really help to merge the house with the surroundings and make it look natural. Although, to me, the front door looks a little out of place. Also, my mother would have fits at Yvonne's version of neat! giggle I like the retro television, and how everything is mis matchy but still goes together. The different lengths of the lights over the dining table I really like, and I like how you've made the pillows really 'pop' in the bedroom by having a white bedspread.

neoscat
I like how you've used the stage tool as a deck. It's more tied in with the beah without having sand right up to the door. Your house has really clean lines and I love the little pops of colour from the white. The kitchen is so neat, and I really like how the windows are pink at night time, that's really clever.

Peachy
I like your roof, it's really clever. And the ceiling beams inside the house are so 'real life'. I like how you've used green in the fireplace and made it 'non-traditional', and how that green matches the green of the picture frames above. Also, the shape of the dining room is mega. I was staring at the wall opposite the kitchen for ages it was so spellbinding.

mrmiss
I like how in the basement room the wall print carries over to the door, it's really creative. Speaking of creative, there are so many pictures down there! You've even got pictures on the floor, which, I must say, I love. I really like how you've got those patterns on the armoir. Usually you'd think it'd be jarring on the eyes, but it looks really good! The way you've sunken the mailbox into the wall is also really clever. It looks like it's actually stuck on the wall, which is a lot more creative than the old EA mailboxes.

Phew! I need to check in more often...

Phoenixfire - I could be comfortable there, I love the library. Smile

neoscat - Now that is a beach home. I like the kid's room with all the windows and space saving bunk bed.

Peachy - What a charming home. The exposed roof beams are a nice touch.

mrmiss - Great architecture. And that living room is perfect for a city home.

Everyone has such amazing entries!

PhoenixFire: I love your color scheme, the wall of bookshelves, the kitchen... I love it all!

neoscat: You really limited yourself space wise, however I think it still works well. It's a perfect vacation home for the outdoorsy types :]

Peachy: The exterior is really cute, as is the interior. I think my selfsim would be quite comfortable there!

mrmiss: I love all the art work in Lara's room, and your use of the loft bed. They are excellent space savers, I actually have one in my real life bedroom lol Also the rooftop deck is lovely!

So, I've been working on this entry off an on since this challenge opened... I went through stages where I loved and hated it, and right now I'm just glad to be done with it lol
